Women’s Health Physiotherapy (also known as Pelvic Floor or Pelvic Health Physiotherapy) specialises conditions related to the bladder, bowel, pelvic floor muscles, pregnancy, birth preparation, and post-birth. 

Women’s Health Physiotherapists work closely with General Practitioners, Specialists, and other allied health professionals to help manage your treatment.

Next Steps:

  • Book an Initial Appointment with our Women’s Health Physiotherapist.
  • Your assessment will begin with an In-depth discussion, including; pregnancy so far or symptoms you are experiencing, overall health, and previous medical history
  • From there, your Women’s Health Physiotherapist will conduct a Physical Assessment which may include testing your motion through a variety of different movements and if deemed necessary, we may perform an internal pelvic floor exam
  • Individualised treatment plan including; tailored home exercise program, personalised recommendations, and a follow up appointment to support you in improving your health and recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is highly recommended that you have a pelvic floor assessment post birth no matter what your birthing experience was (Natural birth with no complications, Natural birth with an episiotomy, Emergency C-section, Planned C-section etc)

No, you are able to book in to see us without a referral from your Doctor. However, if you do have a referral from your Doctor for a Chronic Disease Management Plan you will be able to access some Medicare funding for up to 5 consults.

If available, please provide any documentation that you may have in relation to your symptoms. This can include scan results, current braces you may be using, or a Doctor’s referral if you have one.
